A Donegal TD is blaming the Government over a rise in eviction notices. 

It comes as there was a record number of eviction notices issued in the first three months of this year, ahead of new rental rules which came into effect in March.

The Residential Tenancies Board received more than seven thousand notices of termination - up 50 per cent on the same period last year.

It’s the highest quarterly figure since records began in 2023.

Sinn Féin Donegal TD Pearse Doherty says the figures are a direct result of the change in Government policy:
