Opposition party representatives are strongly opposing the government’s plan to phase out the cuts to excise duty on petrol and diesel from September.

 

Cabinet are expected to agree today to extend the cuts for another month, however they will gradually phase them out in the final four months of the year.

 

 

Speaking to Ocean FM news, Sinn Fein’s Finance Spokesperson and Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty says the decision to remove the supports show that the Government are continuing to fail to grasp how badly people in the North West and beyond are struggling:
