A Donegal independent Councillor is calling on the government to address concerns being expressed by the by the Adult Education Teachers Organisation.

 

 

The A.E.T.O are in dispute with Government over poor conditions and insecure contracts.

 

They are demanding Fairness, Equality and Protection.

 

The body have issued a number of key demand including the restoration of funding for the sector.

A Review the “Adult Educator” contract, which they say creates a two-tier, low-pay system with reduced hours.

They are looking for classes and positions to be reinstated and for recognition of existing long service, experiences and professional contribution.

 

 

Cllr Jimmy Brogan want a fair system for all adult educators.  He says the current approach is driving experienced staff out of the sector.
