Consultants in Sligo have contacted TDs over the concerns related to the orthopaedic theatre in Sligo University Hospital.

It comes as a leaky radiator lead to the cancellation of numerous Elective Orthopaedic Surgeries at the hospital this week. 

It also follows a number of leaks to the roof of the theatre over the last year but repair works were completed at the end of 2025.

Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says it's clear that the current facilities are not good enough:
