It's claimed Sligo University Hospital doesn't have sufficient facilities to cope with a spike in ED attendances.

It comes amid 360 people presenting to the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend.

While yesterday, the INMO sounded alarm over it described as dangerous overcrowding right across the North West region.

Cllr Michael Clarke recently met with management at Sligo University Hospital to discuss a number of key concerns at the facility and says the high numbers are a concern at this time of year:
