A Sligo Councillor is warning an over dependence on the private construction sector will continue to lead to more families in the local region falling into the homelessness. 

Latest figures claim that social housing output doubled in the first quarter of this year, but is still well short of annual targets.

832 new social homes were delivered in the first three months of the year, with an annual target of 12 thousand a year being worked towards.
