Serious concern has been raised once again over a number of wastewater treatment plants in County Sligo. 

Plants in Cliffoney/Mullaghmore and Ballygawley have been cited as areas of concern, with both facilities deemed no longer fit for purpose. 

While there are plans in the pipeline, it could be years before upgrade works to the infrastructure are completed. 

Fine Gael Cllr Thomas Walsh says there needs to be a sense of urgency with the projects in question, as the standard needs to align with the level of housing being planned:
