There's concern over the condition of a road leading to a tourist attraction in south Sligo.

The route into the old parish church of Emlaghfad, Ballymote, which is listed under the urban trail www.sligowalks.ie is said to be badly overgrown.

The Church itself is of mid 18th Century design but was later replaced in 1818 by the church that's within the town now.

Sligo County Council say it currently doesn't have the funds to carry out the works.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council and Fine Gael Cllr Dra Mulvey says its important tourists can access this landmark and the necessary funding needs to be found:
