It's thought local authorities in the North West and further afield should start thinking about providing designated public bins for vapes.  

WEEE data shows just one point four million of the 25 million vapes sold last year in counties covered by Ireland's largest e-waste recycling scheme, were returned.

There's a warning that vapes pose serious environmental and fire risks. 

Councillor Irene Guckian Rabbitte says they must be recycled as electrical waste but there is also an onus on WEEE to contribute to that effort:
