Serious concern has been raised over the HSE West and North West losing its powers over day to day spending. 

The Public Expenditure Minister is taking the action due to an overspend of hundreds of millions of euro.

Four regions across the country are to lose control of its spending. 

Chairperson of the Regional health forum west and Donegal County Councillor Gerry McMonagle says the HSE in this region knows best on how to invest in the local health service. 

He's warning the move will have detrimental consequences:
