Members of Sligo Fianna Fail met earlier this week due to discuss the issue.

It's understood that at the meeting no party members expressed the wish to allow their names go forward for the position.

Padraig Cawley, a local representative of Fianna Fail Ógra had previously said he would give the matter consideration but had decided to concentrated on studies and college:
