Calls for Speed limit to be increased on parts of old N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney

 

 

The old N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney may have it's speed limit increased in the near future.

 

The L3700 has gone from a 100 kilometre per hour route to a limit of 60 kilometres per hour in the last few years.

 

However the Roads Department of Sligo County Council are requesting that it be made a regional road, and as such be increased to an 80 kilometre per hour limit.

 

Local Councillor Liam Brennan, who raised the original motion, says the increase would make the road safer:
