There are calls for “Sligo Day” to be established. 

Sligo County Council is being urged to consider a flagship weekend/ day in Sligo to promote all things Sligo. 

It follows on from a hugely successful initiative held in County Mayo for the last number of years. 

Fine Gael Cllr Thomas Walsh says there is no reason why something similar wouldn’t work in County Sligo:
