The company behind plans for a number of wind turbines in North Leitrim is facing pressure to hold a public meeting.

It's proposed to create a 14-turbine wind energy development on Dough (DO) Mountain which has sparked concern among residents in the area.

The company has already met with local Cllrs but it's thought locally that a public meeting in the likes of the Bee Park in Manorhamilton should be arranged so people can have the opportunity to share their views.

Local Cllr Eddie Mitchell believes there needs to be meaningful public engagement with the people of North Leitrim prior to the submission of any planning application:
