Serious questions are being asked once again over the ongoing fish quota debacle 

Killybegs is said to be on the cusp of a severe fishing crisis, with a projected 70% reduction in the 2026 mackerel quota, threatening to slash export values by €66 million and risk 2,600 jobs.

The issues were raised at a Joint Committee on Fisheries and Maritime Affairs with Minister Dooley on Sea Fisheries Protection Issues and the Legislative Framework of the SFPA last night.
