The current bins being provided in south Donegal are said to be no longer fit for purpose. 

Some of the bins are said to be up to 40 years old and are overflowing on a continuous basis. 

Sinn Fein Cllr Michael McMahon says the current model is also accessible to wildlife which in turn is causing a major nuisance locally. 

He says the idea of new ones is being explored but they do need to be installed as a matter of urgency:
