A commemoration to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks was held in Ballymote today.

Two hijacked planes were flown into the twin towers in New York, while another hit the Pentagon in Virginia, a fourth was forced down by a passenger revolt in Pennsylvania.

A Sligo man was among the three thousand killed that day.
