Landlords disguising rent hikes as service charges have caused concern among students in the North West.

It follows a high-profile case in Dublin City University where service charges were hiked when rent pressure controls were in place.

A Labour bill centred around tackling this loophole has been brought forward this week.

Jesus Quaye Saya, Deputy President of ATU Sligo's Student Union, says the bill would allow for transparency between students and landlords:
