A Sligo Leitrim TD says he is confident that there will be positive outcome in relation to the wish list of two Sligo schools being completed following respective meetings between the Minister for Education, Hildegarde Naughton and delegations from Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré and the Ursuline College yesterday.

In relation to Gaelscoil Chnoc na Re the Minister has confirmed that Department of Education and Youth will engage with the school to progress emergency works aimed at ensuring the immediate and ongoing safety of the school community and improving the condition of existing classrooms as an interim measure.

Sligo Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon says that the Minister is also aware that the work at the Urlsine College needs to start before the current planning issued for the school runs out in August 2027.

The Fianna Fail TD says Minister will vist both schools in Sligo in the coming weeks.
