It's understood that the window of opportunity to apply for voluntary redundancy at the Kingbridge Private Hospital in Sligo ended on Friday last. 

 

 Nurses and administration staff at the Private Hospital are impacted by the company remodelling its care model locally.

 

Hospital management will today start the process of accessing the redundancy applications.

 

 It's hoped that if the number of staff availing of voluntary redundancies is significant no compulsory redundancies would be required.

 

Sligo Leitrim Deputy Eamon Scanlon claims that the number of job losses will not be as bad as first feared and say's it's that Hospital will continue to remain open.

 

He says efforts are being taken to ensure that workers at Kingsbridge who take redundancy remain in the healthcare sector.
