A Sligo Leitrim TD and Junior Minister says the government will continue to examine all possibilities of transporting Irish citizens from the Middle East in the coming days.

 

A number of Irish people caught up in conflict arrived back to Dublin on a commercial Emirates flight last night.

 

A government charter will leave Oman later this week with a further 280 people expected to be brought home.

 

Over 2,400 Irish citizens in the Middle East have requested chartered flights home, the government says.16 thousand of them having registered since Saturday.

 

 

Adults travelling on the charter from Oman tomorrow will be charged 800 euro each, while children can fly for free.

 

Minister of State and Sligo Leitrim Deputy Frank Feighan says the government are monitoring the situation in the Middle East closely.
