An incident in Sligo courthouse is among those highlighted in a report on increased aggression at Ireland's courts.

 

Records released to The Journal Investigates show a death threat to a member of staff, separate threats made to judges among the incidents recorded by the Courts Service last year.

 

In Sligo courthouse last May, a member of the public became verbally abusive to a CS staff member insulting her and waving clenched fists at her.

 

 

It comes after the President of the High Court warned over growing levels of aggression in the courts.

 

Journalist Noel Baker has carried out the investigation and says it's clear that such issues are no longer confined to the larger courts:
