Questions are being asked over how rural parts of County Sligo will fare from an expected relaxation of one-off housing rules.

 

The Housing Minister confirmed a major policy shake-up to allow more people to build homes on their own land will be brought forward by the summer.

 

The new guidelines will be mandatory for Sligo County Council and other local authorities in a bid to preserve country communities.

 

But Cllr Michael Clarke says following this announcement, information on the matter has been scarce.

 

He's been expressing some reservations and feels the devil may be in the detail:
