There are calls for a dedicated dog free walking route to be introduced to Sligo for people with special needs.

 

It's after a number of incidents locally where some individuals with special needs are said to have become extremely distressed when encountering dogs off their leads.

 

It's thought a specific walking route would provide a safe, predictable environment.

 

Fine Gael Cllr Dara Mulvey is hopeful that it can be introduced in the very near future:
