A Sligo councillor is calling on Sligo County Council to write to the Government over a stalled EV training centre.

 


The proposed national facility in Mullingar, announced in 2023, remains on pause despite rising demand.

 


New figures show electric vehicles are now outselling petrol cars, partly due to rising fuel costs from global conflicts, and there are concerns that there aren't enough trained mechanics to keep up.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Dara Mulvey says urgent action is needed to progress the centre and support the future of the motor industry.
