The Cathaoirleach of the local authority in Sligo has urged anybody that feels intimated or frightened in any way by the behaviour of individuals of groups on public walkways to report the incident to their local Garda Station.

 

Cllr Donal Gilroy was responding to recent claims that a woman and two young children were followed and harassed by two men at Rosses Point this week.

 

The alleged incident reportedly took place on the coastal loop path last Tuesday.

 

 The report claims a mother and two children in a pram were followed and harassed by two men in their 40s.

 

 Warning to other walkers that use the walk have been circulated on social media.

 

Cllr. Donal Gilroy says the incident is concerning and has urged anyone that feels threatened or intimated in any way to report their concerns to Gardaí.
