Motorists across the North West are being urged to plan ahead and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs over the St Patrick's Bank Holiday weekend.


An enhanced Garda roads policing campaign is running throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, from 7am today until 7am on Wednesday, March 18th, targeting drink and drug driving as thousands attend celebrations and parades across the country.


The Road Safety Authority says drink driving remains a major concern, with more than one in ten drivers admitting they drove after consuming alcohol in the past year.


Speaking to Ocean Fm News Senior Media Relations Manager with the RSA, David Martin, is urging people across the North West to celebrate safely and plan their journey home if they intend to drink this St Patricks Day Weekend.
