As the northwest prepares for a weekend of sunshine and rising temperatures, the RNLI is urging people heading to the coast or inland waterways to prioritise water safety.


People are being advised to swim only at lifeguarded beaches, keep a close eye on children near the water and be aware of changing sea conditions.


The charity is also warning that offshore winds forecast for Sunday could quickly blow paddleboards, kayaks and inflatables away from shore.
