A major new Further Education and Training college is to be developed in Castlebar as part of a multi-million euro Government investment for the west and north-west.

The state-of-the-art campus will serve Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim, creating new education and apprenticeship pathways linked to regional skills needs.

Minister of State Marian Harkin believes the project will provide seamless lifelong learning opportunities, from local ETB training through to ATU Sligo.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Minister Marian Harkin said the investment will ensure every learner has a pathway to upskill, reskill and progress within the region.
