 

The Mental Health Minister has moved to further clarify why Sligo University Hospital was omitted from a recent announcement for specialist crisis nursing teams.

 

Last week, it emerged ten hospitals across the country are set to benefit from new specialist mental health teams in a bid to strengthen crisis supports out-of-hours in emergency departments.

 

However, neither Sligo nor Letterkenny University Hospital have been included in the rollout.

 

The issue was raised in the Dáil by Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny who questioned why Sligo wasn't included.

 

Minister Mary Butler says it is her intention to include Sligo and other model three hospitals as part of Budget 2027:
