Minister Marian Harkin has welcomed a major funding boost from Transport Infrastructure Ireland for road projects across the North West.

Sligo will receive €8.2 million and Leitrim €3.1 million for national routes including the N4, N16 and N17, with funding also confirmed for the Carrick-on-Shannon Bypass.

An additional €9.8 million for Sligo and €7.8 million for Leitrim has been allocated under restoration and improvement grants for regional and local roads.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Minister Marian Harkin said the investment is vital to improve safety, connectivity and support economic growth across the North West.
