Opposition politicians in Sligo Leitrim have joined forces in objecting to moves which will it seems will see a Greenway developed on the old railway track between Collooney, and Bellaghy, in preference to development of the rail corridor along the western seaboard.

 

Senator Nessa Cosgrove, Labour Party Spokesperson on Rural and Community Development claims that between €1 and €1.6 million has already been spent on planning and developing a Greenway which is thought o be temporary infrastructure.

 

Deputy Kenny says the people of Sligo and the North-West deserve to have proper rail infrastructure, put in place to ensure economic development
