A local councillor has called for justice for festival organisers and hopes measures will be introduced to better protect festivals and ticket revenue in the future.

Sinn Fein's Brendan Barry made the comments after the Cowboys and Heroes organisers revealed that around €135,000 in ticket sales is unaccounted for following the collapse of Tickets.ie.

The organisers of the popular festival which ran last weekend described the situation as an unexpected and painful experience, and said all suppliers would be paid.
