Leitrim Union Official Hopeful of Pay Talks Breakthrough

A Leitrim Fórsa union official is hopeful that a deal can be reached in the ongoing talks aimed at securing a new public sector pay agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission.

Derek Kelleher is an Assistant General Secretary with Fórsa Trade Union, with responsibility for Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Mayo and Donegal.

He says the lack of information or leaks emerging from the talks is an encouraging sign.

The North West union official says a deal could be struck in a short period of time if there is a willingness on the Government’s behalf.
