The Local Authority in Leitrim are being encouraged to develop a plan that will look after the maintenance of Greenways.

 

With the current summer weather in the North West many local residents and tourists have enjoyed spending time on several blue and greenways in the local region.

 

It’s thought that demonstration stretches are used as an opportunity to encourage many of these visitors back to the region in the future.

 

Independent Councillor Eddie Mitchell has urged the Local Authority to ensure that such facilities are maintained to a high standard.

 

Cllr Mitchell says it’s vital that the demonstration infrastructure of such projects are adequately maintained and urged to Local Authority to provide assistance to community groups for such tasks.
