A Leitrim Councillor and member of the Local Community Safety partnership says each area will look to establish its own list of priorities for Gardai to deal with.

 

The comments from Councillor Padraig Fallon were in response to targets set out by the Policing and Community Safety Authority which as they claim would represent success for the force over the next two years.

 

Engaging with victims, children and communities were mentioned as key targets.

 

The Local Community Safety Partnership has replaced the JPC in recent times.

 

It aims to create safer communities through collaborative, multi-agency action bringing together residents, council officials, Gardaí, and community groups.
