Councillors in Leitrim County Council have unanimously backed calls to secure permanent funding for the Sligo–Leitrim Autism Support Service.

 

Councillors are urging Norma Foley to provide recurrent funding to secure at least two Autism Support Officers beyond the current pilot phase.

 

An independent evaluation found the service delivers excellent educational, social and behavioural supports, with strong demand and a growing waiting list.
