 

A number of surgeries have been cancelled at Sligo University Hospital after yet another leak in the roof of its orthopaedic theatre.

 

Water was discovered dripping through a light fixture in the theatre over the weekend.

 

Five procedures due to be carried out today have been impacted.

 

It’s the latest in a number of leaks in the roof there, despite extensive repairs being carried out last year.

 

Cathaoirleach of the Sligo Drumcliff MD, Fianna Fáil Cllr Edel McSharry has described the situation as critical:
