The INMO says the number of people on trolleys in hospitals has reached highest point since the pandemic.

 

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says more than 9-thouand-600 people were on trolleys while waiting on a hospital bed in June.

 

It was confirmed yesterday by the INMO that Sligo University Hospital was the second most overcrowded hospital in Ireland for the month of June.


It's more than double the overall figure recorded in June of 2025.

 

At Letterkenny University Hospital, the figure rose from 378 in June 2025 to 554 in June 2026.
