A representative for the IBAL group has stated his satisfaction with the latest results for Sligo the North West town was found to be the cleanest town in the country.

 

The latest litter survey shows Sligo town again deemed ‘Cleaner than European Norms’, retaining 1st place in the ranking of 40 cities and towns.

 

The An Taisce report stated that Sligo has maintained its top position.

The publication stated that the County Sligo Great War Memorial Garden has been fittingly cared for.  It described Sligo Regional Park is a wonderful resource, with all elements in very good order – and very good with regards to litter.  Sligo Retail Park was exceptionally freshly presented and maintained.  All the approach roads were top ranking.

 

 

Conor Horgan from Irish Business against Litter says it was very pleasing to see Sligo enhance its reputation as Ireland’s cleanest Town.  He says today’s news will be a big boost to the local tourism sector
