There are no plans to develop a minor injury clinic at Our Lady's Hospital in Manorhamilton.

 

It's thought that having such a unit in the North Leitrim town would alleviate ongoing pressures at Sligo University Hospital.

 

The HSE say there's a national plan in place regarding the location and development of Minor Injury Units across the country, and they will be situated where they can best meet population need.

 

As part of the plan for this region, one is to open in Ballina while one is already operational in Roscommon.

 

Independent Cllr Felim Gurn says despite the HSE's stance on the matter, he’s not going to give up:
