The Health Minister claims there've been improvements in the number of patients waiting in Emergency Departments.

 

 

There were a quarter fewer patients waiting on trolleys at 8am after St Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend, compared to the same time last year.

 

 

Minister Carroll McNeill says it shows the system has more resilience, despite record demand.

 

The comments from the Minister may come a s a surprise to the many locally as Hospitals in the North West have been among the most over-crowded in the Country.

 

The INMO have indicated that industrial action may be required to highlight the issue in Hospital’s across the western seaboard.

 

 

However, Sinn Fein's Health Spokesperson David Cullinane says the Government shouldn't be congratulating itself:
