Vice Chair of the Regional Health Forum West is urging the Government to act and avoid further disruption to medical services in the North West.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is to ballot its members on industrial action, up to and including strike.

It's over the Government’s failure to offer negotiations on a new public sector pay deal.

The INMO says the actual cost of nurses and midwives getting to work must form part of any national agreement and is also calling for action on unsafe workloads and ongoing staffing pressures.
