Donegal County Council has been asked to seek pilot status for a new scheme aimed at supporting struggling shops and village retailers.

 

Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy says rising wage, insurance and energy costs are leaving many family-run businesses unable to survive.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Niamh Kennedy says if action isn't taken soon, rural towns and villages risk losing their vibrancy, community spirit and tourism appeal.
