The updated Local Area Hackney licence is said to provide a simpler and more affordable alternative to a standard hackney licence.

 

It allows local drivers to operate within their own communities rather than nationwide.

 

The updated scheme is said to be simpler, more flexible with licences now lasting up to 5 years, up from 3 years previously.

 

There were previous concerns over a taxi shortage in Bundoran and local Sinn Fein Cllr Michael McMahon is hopeful that this might resolve those issues going forward:
