Cathaoirleach of the Ballymote Tubbercurry MD warns that multiple reasons are impacting first time buyers

 

The Cathaoirleach of the Ballymote Tubbercurry Municipal District of Sligo County Council has warned against an over fixation on reducing stamp Duty in efforts to help first time buyers on to the property ladder.

 

 

Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris has seemingly ruled out removing stamp duty for first time property buyers in next month's budget, despite Fianna Fáil's calls for the move previously.

 

Cllr Barry Gallagher says there needs to be a look at the bigger picture when it comes to helping younger people to become property owners.

 

The Fianna Fail Councillor says there a number of measures that could be introduced to help first time buyers.
