The largest-ever increase to the Carer's Allowance income limits came into effect this week with more carers across Sligo, Leitrim and South Donegal set to qualify for support.

 

Weekly income limits have increased from €625 to €1,000 for a single person and from €1,250 to €2,000 for a couple, allowing carers to earn more while keeping their payment.

 

Deputy Eamon Scanlon believes the changes recognise the vital work carers do and will provide greater financial support and certainty for families in the North West
