Residents at Ballyshannon Community Hospital have knitted more than 80 hats for newborn and premature babies at Sligo University Hospital.

The knitting club also created over 300 Easter chickens, raising funds for the hospital’s Patient Comfort Fund.

Staff say the initiative has given residents a renewed sense of purpose, connection and community spirit.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Donna Reid says the project has been uplifting for residents, staff and families alike.
