A Sligo Leitrim TD has moved to ease any concerns that may exist in relation to the base for helicopters that are used for emergency medical transfers being moved out of Sligo.

 

Deputy Eamon Scanlon says that he is now happy with assurances provided that the helicopter will reamin based in Sligo at Strandhill airport.

 

The Fianna Fáil TD says the service which has been used to transfer many seriously ill patients to hospitals will continue to be based locally for the foreseeable future.
