On the October edition of Ocean FM’s Road Safety Focus, we decided to devote the entire programme to the dangers posed by speeding vehicles travelling through the village of Ballinacarrow in County Sligo.

We looked at the issue from the perspective of the local national school community.

On the programme, we hear from students, teachers, parents and local elected representatives about the dangers associated with the village’s location on the main N17.

With children attending the local school, and pedestrians and residents using the roads and footpaths in the area, the message is a simple one: slow down, take care and be aware of those around you.
